Top 6 Generated from Chengdu Pambassadors Selection Contest

Following one-week training in Chengdu, 12 Pambassador candidates selected from more than 60,000 contestants in 52 nations and regions around the world attended the finals in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and the top six candidates were selected as the “Pambassadors”.

The final was flooded with tense and fun, the required questions and quick response aimed to test contestants’ knowledge about panda; distinguishing of bamboos and actual operation on installing resting frames for panda targeted at displaying the achievements of contestants after previous practice. And the talent show integrated the affection of candidates in giant panda conservation with the love and sincerity for Chinese Culture, and the show won the applause of audiences.

After three hours of fierce competition, six candidates were granted “Pambassador”, including Ali Shakonrian from Sweden, Ashley Robertson from US, David Algranti from France, Huang Xi from China, Wang Yuwen from Taiwan, China and Yumiko Kajiwara from Japan.

The six Pambassadors will spend one month in the Base taking care of six most legendary giant pandas in the world, including Jing Jiang, Mei Lan and Xin Bang. And then, they will take their responsibility as “Pambassadors” in promoting giant panda in various forms throughout the world.
