The 30th issue of Giant Panda, a popular science journal focusing on wild fauna and flora edited and published by Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, comes off the press in the withering summer.

The publication of this issue coincides with the convening of 2013 Chengdu Global Fortune Forum. Illustrated in its Preface is a giant panda, the promotion ambassador of the aforesaid forum. It provides an insight into the wealth of ecological environment from several different perspectives.

"Special Report": After the Lushan Earthquake, how about the people, ecological environment and giant pandas in affected areas? Our "Four Investigations" team continued to fulfill its mission in the mountainous region after the quake, bringing forth many fascinating investigation-related stories.

"Exploring Mystery": When red panda was discovered in 1825, it was then named "panda", and renamed as "lesser panda" after giant panda was discovered. As an associated animal species of giant panda, red panda features an adorable appearance and owns its unique survival skills.

"Science Education": Presented in the column is the report on what condition sharks are in with regard to vandalism and protection efforts. To better protect this animal species, we need your attention and action.
