Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding Holds 2022 National Energy Conservation Publicity Week and National Low Carbon Day Popular Science Activities
The 2022 National Energy Conservation Publicity Week, starting from June 13 to 19, was given the theme Green and Low-Carbon, Energy Conservation Above All. Low Carbon Day which falls on June 15 is devoted to Building a Beautiful Homeland through Carbon Emission Reduction, so we held a popular science activity with the theme Xiaochuan Energy Conservation and Going Green at the Giant Panda Museum.
This activity focused on giant pandas’ energy-efficient eating habits and environmental protection. We have conducted numerous activities both offline and online, such as theme poster displays and publicity, watching popular science videos on how to reduce carbon footprints and go green, exclusive popular science talks, handing out cards with environmental protection commitments on them and taking group photos with Xiaochuan. We have also shared these with tourists, distributed environmental protection publicity materials, and popular science communication via our public accounts to spread the ideas of energy conservation and carbon reduction to more people. This can help eliminate public misunderstandings about the unique eating habits and behavior of giant pandas, improving public scientific literacy, and raise the people’s awareness on environmental protection. By encouraging the public to go green, we can co-build a more beautiful and harmonious homeland.
