On the morning of August 6, the Vienna Girls' Choir, Austria and the choir of the Experimental School Attached to Sichuan Normal University harmonized a unique choral exchange performance at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and the premiere of the Vienna Girls' Choir in China.
The Vienna Girls' Choir is the business card of the music capital of Austria, which is the most distinctive girls' choir in Europe, with an 80-year history. The Girls' Choir members are all from the music school affiliated with the Vienna municipal government. These pure and lovely girls with elegant voices are 11 to 18 years old, and the performance was subtle and elegant.
In order to reflect the strong love of the Girls' Choir members to the giant pandas, the Department of Foreign and Overseas Sichuan Affairs has actively coordinated relevant departments to organize this exchange concert at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, with the theme Ode to Panda, Relations between Sichuan and Austria. During the performance, they sang the Vois sur ton chemin, Love is My Eyes, Spring in Vienna, Edelweiss, and Jasmine, a classic Chinese folk song. The music lingered in the air long after the performance ended, which was well received by the parents and tourists attending the event.
The performance was an important cultural exchange activity after Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and Prime Minister Sebastian Kurz visited Sichuan in April this year and received strong support from the Forestry Department of Sichuan Province, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and the Experimental School Attached to Sichuan Normal University.
