International Museum Day | The Giant Panda Museum Offers a Glimpse of Better Life

The annual International Museum Day is just around the corner. This year, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has set the theme as Museums, Sustainability and Well-being. In response to theme, the Chengdu Giant Panda Museum called on the public to visit the museum to gain knowledge and broaden their horizons as part of the effort to raise people’s awareness of protecting rare wild species represented by giant pandas, conveying the concept of “humanity, giant pandas, and nature in harmony” to build a better life together.

On this significant occasion, Chengdu Giant Panda Museum has elaborately planned two themed activities, which offered tourists a deep understanding of the relevant knowledge of giant pandas while participating in the activities pleasantly.

Activity One

|Q&A: Exclusive Stamping Activities|

What family does the giant panda belong to?

In which provinces are wild giant pandas only distributed in our country?

Do you know the answers to these questions?

The section was specially designed for visitors to the museum today, who were given exclusive cards for International Museum Day. After answering all the popular science questions on the card correctly, they will be qualified for an exclusive event stamp on the card.

Activity Two

|Panda Detective: Exploring the Giant Panda Museum|

What does the world’s first giant panda themed museum look like?

What are the unknown stories about the past and present life of giant pandas?

In the Chengdu Giant Panda Museum, you can find relevant answers.

Come and explore!

This part was held twice this morning and afternoon respectively. Guided by a popular science teacher, visitors explored the exhibition halls of the Giant Panda Museum in groups and immersed themselves in the adventure with the help of the Exploration Manual drafted for this activity.

It remains the purpose of our unremitting efforts to widely spread the story of giant pandas and the culture behind the species, and to work hard to protect the environment as the guardian of our mother nature, with an ultimate goal to achieve the harmonious coexistence between man and nature. To make that possible, on May 18, 2023, the International Museum Day, Chengdu Giant Panda Museum is awaiting your visit to catch a glimpse of what better life of giant pandas is like.
