On November 24, 24 primary school students from the fourth grade of Panda Road Primary School in Chengdu, led by a popular science teacher, visited the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and participated in a special Giant Panda Museum Tour themed with “A ‘Cat’ Growing Up in My Family”.
The activity mainly consists of three parts: the museum tour, the popular science lecture, and the face-to-face encounter with giant pandas. Started with the introduction of unique living habits of giant pandas and the artificial auxiliary breeding of the Panda Base, the event guided the students to explore the secrets of giant pandas’ growth in depth. With a silk bag in hand, students explored the growth trajectory of panda cubs in the interactive part of the museum tour. During the lecture, they have had their knowledge base expanded by learning the growth process of the species. Their visit to giant pandas outdoors to feel the charm of life growth has deepened their emotional connection with giant pandas and animals.
The short trip came to an end with those young participants’ sharing and lively discussion in a hilarious atmosphere. They have gained different knowledge about giant pandas. The meaning of the tour lies in: they will give their parents a warm and grateful embrace when they get home; they will share the charm of life growth with more people and adhere to the environmental protection actions as much as possible.
