As the 8th International Panda Day approaches, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (hereinafter referred to as the “Panda Base”) has led, for the first time, other science popularization units across the country including the iPanda channel of CCTV, to launch a themed activity.

Since the public find it hard to tell the difference between pandas, staff from cooperative units played the role as a secret agent under the code name for “one zero two seven” and led visitors to differentiate different pandas in a fun way. The event covers a wide range of activities, including lectures on giant panda knowledge, on-site observation and explanation, panda puzzles, live classroom, short-videos, text and graphics, checking card sharing and other online and offline ones. Those activities not only popularize the scientific knowledge and the way to differentiate pandas, but also encourage the public to contribute their due share to environmental protection by calling for their closer attention to giant pandas, their habitats, and protection of biodiversity.
