1.To further enhance animal welfare, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is piloting a rotational rest system for the pandas. No.6 Giant Panda Villa, an area with consistently high visitor traffic, will be closed to the public every Monday (except on national statutory holidays) as part of this initiative. Please plan your visit accordingly.
2.The Chengdu Giant Panda Museum inside the Base is closed on Mondays for maintenance, except on national statutory holidays. Please follow the official WeChat account “Chengdu Giant Panda Museum” to make reservations in advance. The Bamboo Tower may temporarily close during adverse weather. The Panda Art Museum is also closed on Mondays for maintenance, except on national statutory holidays.
3.Please ensure your personal safety. Senior citizens, young children, pregnant women, and those with limited mobility must be accompanied and supervised by an adult during their visit. Please keep your personal belongings secure, guard against mosquito and insect bites, and keep at least 3 meters away from any free-roaming animals and red pandas in walk-through areas. Do not sit or stand on railings or in other hazardous locations, and never attempt to climb over protective barriers.
4.Giant pandas naturally prefer cool weather and are sensitive to heat. To protect the health of these national treasures and ensure a comfortable habitat, when the temperature reaches the “indoor recall” threshold, we will guide them indoors in due course, taking into account both enclosure conditions and the animals’ behavioral patterns. You are welcome to visit pavilions with indoor viewing areas. We apologize for any inconvenience and wish you a pleasant visit!
